A brief history of Truskavets Resort

In the early days of its history, the Truskavets, probably was the property of the Galician-Volyn princes, and after the conquest of feudal principalities of Poland, the Truskavets lands came into the ownership of Polish kings .
The first historical information about Truskavets refer to 1526. While there were found the salt deposits .
In the XVIII century, the citizens of Truskavets started to use salt water sources for the medicinal purposes.
At the beginning of the XIX century, here already mined mineral wax and traces of oil.
In 1820, the source of sulfuric water was already identified.
Since then, the residents of nearby villages used sulfuric water for treatment of articular rheumatism and skin diseases.
Truskavets-Resort began to be called since 1827 , after Y. Leshevsky built here the small, eight-rooms hydropathical-clinic. In 1835, Lviv pharmacist and doctor Torosevich first made a chemical analysis of the water source " NAFTUSIA " as well as a source of salt ropy "FERDINANT".
In 1858, in Truskavets baths built thirty-five booths. Then open and new sulfur springs - "Emmanuel " and " Anna " with a total flow rate of water about 3.5 thousand liters per hour.
Currently Truskavets is well-known international spa resort.
