Bukovel Ski Resort was established in 2000 as an all-year-round tourist and recreational complex. In 2012 the Bukovel was named the fastest-growing ski resort worldwide. It is a large modern ski resort located in the village of Polyanytsya in the Ivano-Frankivsk oblast. It is just 30km to the west of Yaremche. It is Ukraine's only European-class resort with high-speed chair lifts, meticulously groomed slopes, snow-making machines and turnstiles for letting skiers through lines. The resort has been carefully planned to make skiing and snowboarding enjoyable and convenient and to avoid lift lines and congestion.
Bukovel currently boasts 16 ski lifts with roughly 50 km (31 mi) of pistes. There are 61 pistes sections of which 12 are Blue(beginners), 41 red (intermediates) and 8 are Black (experts). The longest piste is 5G at 2,106 m (6,909 ft). There are 11×4-person chair lifts, 1×3-person chair lift, 1×2-person chair lift and 1×T-bar. The top elevation is on Mount Dovha at 1372 meters and the base elevation is 900 meters above sea level, for a total vertical drop of 472 meters, this makes Bukovel the second highest ski resort in Ukraine.

On the other side of mount Babyn Pohar is the nature preserve "Gorgany".
Bukovel's ski season depends on climatic factors and is usually around the beginning of December to mid-April. Night skiing is available from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Bukovel is growing rapidly, and new equipment and runs are being added each year.

The slopes offer all categories of difficulty for great skiing and snowboarding. There is a training slop offering a very long gradual slope that is perfect for beginners, some short tows for children and "super beginners" along with all levels of intermediate runs and several black routes for the really experienced adventurous skiers. Night skiing is available from 17:00-20:00, on two slopes that are of upper-intermediate level along with Floodlit runs.
With Stunning scenery, crystal clear air, a rich historical heritage and the unique cultural traditions of the locals, it attracts tourists to this resort in the village of Polyanytsya. The resort offers everything you would expect in a top class European winter skiing-resort with luxury hotels and cottages, nightclubs, pubs, restaurants, saunas, Gyms, health and fitness centres.

The Bukovel has a free-of-charge pump room to drink mineral water. The resort is also known for its baths of mineral water and herbal extracts.

All activities are managed by experienced instructors with accredited lifeguards on the beach. The areas for swimming and water activities are delineated. The lake water is crystal clear and warm with temperatures of up to 20-22'C. Among the tourists this lake has been called the "Carpathian Sea"
